EDUCATED DEFENSE SEMINARS
EDUCATED DEFENSE has been helping women protect themselves for over twenty years, using a non-physical approach. Essentially, ANYONE can participate in our courses regardless of their physical ability.(Recommended for ages 13 and up).
Learning "avoidance" skills is the first step in self-protection. Most attackers select a victim well in advance of any crime being committed.
The best defense is to avoid the attack.
The best weapon is preparation.
WHERE CAN I TAKE THE COURSE?
We come to you! No special equipment is needed. Classes can be held in boardrooms, classrooms, living rooms, etc. You will need to be seated for most of the sessions, and you may want to take notes, but no special clothing or audio/visual equipment is used.
No size group is too small or too large.
Do you want to teach your daughter to avoid "date rape"? Find other like-minded mothers and daughters and take the course together.
Do you want to help your employees to be "travel wise"? No problem.
You pick the topics that are relevant to your group.
All programs are designed to be informative, practical, and entertaining.

The cost of the program is rated
on a per session fee or an hourly rate.
The total cost of your individualized program
depends on the number of sessions that are
selected, or the length of your customized
program.
Each one hour of instruction
is $50.00 plus tax
An additional charge MAY be applied for travel time to certain locations.
No groups is too large or too small.
There is NO additional charge for a customized program.

JIM DOAN
Program Designer and Instructor
While living in Victoria, BC, he used his experience and skills unique to his field to develop the EDUCATED DEFENSE program which has been taught to over 1,500 participants since 1991.
In Kamloops since 1995, Jim now owns and operates the Western Karate Academy with North and South shore locations. He is a sixth degree Black belt in karate.
Jim is an entertaining and dynamic speaker, a skilled facilitator, and holds a post secondary diploma in Psychology/Social Work.
